More and more people begin to recognize the value of textile as historical documentation and as masterpieces of art. Besides stains, abrasion and air pollution, one of the worst threats to textiles is light, especially ultraviolet ray from natural sunlight and fluorescent amps. High temperatures can embrittle textile fibers.
* Store clean but unironed
* Keep the temperature in the storage area at 65 to 75 degree F
* Air pollution is a source of harmful soil and debris, store textiles in a dust-free and well-ventilated area
* Don’t store textiles in a plastic bag, which prevent air circulation and encourage mildew
* Clean table top or display surface on which you place the textiles items
* Clean textiles before storage
* Lay articles flat; if it is too big and you have to fold it, fold as few as possible or simply wrap the item around a rolling tube and cover the tube with clean fabric
